Why people join our team
We serve homeowners, contractors and decorators every day, so our team needs to be steady, helpful and able to work under pressure. In Korsten, Walmer, Newton Park, Sandton, Randburg and Bellville, the pace can change quickly when a big order comes in or a customer needs help with colour matching before knock-off time.
Most of our people enjoy hands-on work, proper product knowledge and dealing with customers face to face. If you are practical, organised and take pride in doing things properly, you will fit in well.
- Good customer service and clear communication
- Interest in paint, colour and surface preparation
- Ability to work with stock, orders and basic admin
- Willingness to learn about tinting, prep advice and trade support
Roles we usually hire for
We hire for a mix of retail, trade and support roles across our branches and office functions. Some positions are customer facing, while others focus on stock, orders or colour work. We prefer to receive CVs from people who can help in more than one area.
- Retail branch staff
- Colour matching and tinting support
- Trade sales and contractor account support
- Customer support and telephone orders
- Stock handling and branch operations
Experience in paint is helpful, but not always necessary. A strong work ethic, good numeracy and a calm manner with customers can count for a lot.
What a normal day can involve
No two days are the same in a paint business. You may help a homeowner choose the right finish for a lounge, mix a sample pot for a contractor, or work through quantities for a repaint on a townhouse complex. In coastal areas like Gqeberha and Cape Town, moisture and salt air can come up in conversations alot, so practical advice matters.
Depending on the role, you may also handle stock counts, pack orders for collection, answer calls, or help customers plan around load-shedding and job delays. We value people who stay calm, keep the counter tidy and finish the job properly.
What we look for in applicants
We are open to people at different stages in their careers, from entry level through to experienced trade staff. What matters is attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn the details that make a paint recommendation work on site.
- Honest and punctual
- Comfortable working with numbers and quantities
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Neat appearance and a professional approach
- Team players who can also work independently
If you have worked in hardware, coatings, building supplies or customer service before, that background can help. Drivers licence or product handling experience is a plus, depending on the role.
